The Health Ministry is a group of men and women who are or were in a health profession that came together to tend to the health of their parish family, both the mind and the body. There are seven (7) major roles this ministry plays:

1. They are health educators, providing educational activities for all ages that explore the relationship between values, attitudes, lifestyle, faith, and health.
2. They are personal health counselors, assisting individuals with health issues and problems, which may include hospital, home, and nursing home visits.
3. They are referral agents, providing congregational and community resources for healing and wellness.
4. They are health advocates, encouraging their parish families to find the best solution for healing and wholeness (mind, body, and spirit).
5. They are facilitators of volunteers, recruiting and coordinating resources within the faith community to serve its ministry.
6. They are developers of support groups, creating support groups to meet members' needs and those of the external community.
7. They are integrators of faith and health, seeking, in all academics and contacts, to promote understanding of the relationship between faith and health.

They also have a monthly column in the bulletin, sharing the latest news from the health world. On the last Sunday of every other month, you can meet them in the Parish Center to check your blood pressure (visit the Parish Calendar page to find the next date). They also invite guest speakers, collect items for CareOne, and do so much more for this community.
